COLLEEN GUZMAN
Development Manager

As Development Manager, Colleen is working with WJC’s Senior Leadership Team to support the overall fundraising, development, and stewardship efforts that will strengthen and elevate WJC’s mission to empower people to strengthen their communities through conflict resolution skills and practices.

A life-long learner and educator, Colleen began her nonprofit professional journey in facilitating alternative learning programs and fostering classroom spaces that encourage autonomy, choice, and self-directed learning for 8 years. Before joining WJC, Colleen transferred her skills as an educator to focus on expanding and strengthening community, corporate, and volunteer engagement at Heart of Los Angeles and Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles.

Colleen is passionate about creating and elevating safe spaces for communities to call theirs. WJC meets young people, educators, and communities where they are at while providing them with accessible, meaningful, and intentional conflict resolution tools.

Colleen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child Development and Education from Whittier College and is on the way to earning her Master’s in Education.

Outside of work, Colleen frequents the movie theater, loves seeing live music any chance she gets, and attempts to bake sweet bread!
