PMI brings together students from across Los Angeles County to learn critical skills in conflict resolution, empathy, and leadership, so they can shape their school communities for the better.
PMI is more than just an event. It’s a launching pad for young people, putting them in the driver’s seat to build understanding, resolve conflicts, and create lasting change in their schools.
Why It Matters
Peace isn’t just a goal, it’s a practice. Through mediation and conflict resolution education young people learn that every conversation has the power to transform a community.
Peacebuilding in Action: How to Get Involved
Administrators, Educators and School Staff: Whether your school has a peer mediation team or would like to start one, PMI is for you. We have specialized training for beginner, intermediate and advance peer-mediators, plus workshops on a wide-variety of topics for you and your students!
Mediation Mentors and Volunteers: Whether you’re a professional mediator, attorney or judge, or studying to become one, PMI is for you. Join us for this unique opportunity to mentor young peacebuilders and help grow the next generation of mediators.
Not in the mediation field? There are plenty of ways to get involved. Support students during workshops, help with logistics, and be part of an event that models what community looks like in action.
